Elie Mandela
Coordinator

Leading an organization as RVCP is an honor and privilege. It is not only a community of budding young leaders and change-makers but a community of students who are committed to have an impact in the lives of the underprivileged. Having been part of RVCP for almost 4 years now, the diversity of students from various disciplines gives us an advantage and I am more than convinced that we can be the biggest and strongest student run organization in the country which I will strive for. With a strong team like we currently have, the sky is not the limit. God help us.

Bonaventure Mihigo
Assistant Coordinator

Currently in third year majoring biology, I’m part of RVCP since my Day One at University and all I can say is that it’s the best place to be. While serving the community, you meet a lot along, of which many that can be overcome or prevented and I feel the urge of contributing what I can to be part of solution providers in tackling the challenges such as poor sanitation, sexual and reproductive health in youth, maternal health, trauma as a result of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi experience among others. I’m passionate about serving the community, I enjoy seeing people overcoming life struggling to live a better and healthier life and that’s what I will focus on the most. So help me God.

It is not only a privilege, but also a passion to serve Rwanda Village Concept Project (RVCP) as the Fundraising Officer. Being allowed to serve this year as the Pyramid Program Director is an immense privilege, which will help my team and I to contribute to the society by reducing gender based inequalities and empowering girls for a brighter future. In Pyramid program, our target population is girls from poor social economic background. We believe that boosting girls’ self-confidence on their abilities and teaching them how to take responsible decisions about their health, will turn them into valuable leaders in future

Regis Shema
Hygiene and Water Sanitation, Program Director

Since joining RVCP in 2013, the organization has always felt like home. I’m not only an active and proud member of RVCP, I was also recently elected Director of Hygiene and Water Sanitation Program. The program was established to tackle poor sanitation challenges, especially in rural areas where the issue leads to preventable cholera, dysentery, diarrhea, intestinal worms and other water-borne diseases and I do strongly believe in team work, together we will do much during my term in office. In my team, this quote inspires us ‘coming together is a beginning, keeping together is a progress and working together is success.’ God bless RVCP.

Florence
Initiatives, Program Director

I am so passionate about global health and social justice. I am not only an active member of Rwanda Village Concept Project but also I am an Initiative Program Director, a program which covers all initiatives projects arising in the organization. It is also a program that encourages innovation and creativity in initiating and implementing projects. Currently, we are working with vulnerable women where we pay health insurance for their families, we provide micro-credits to run small projects and train them to do handcrafts among other initiates. I am used to lead groups of people successfully and that gives me confidence and strength that I will do the same and more with RVCP.
